How can you resist birthday balloons? Especially when they are made of PAPER! I recently had the pleasure of working on a party for my cousin, Abby, on her 2nd birthday – and I just love how everything turned out.
A couple of weeks before the big day, the birthday girl’s mom described the venue for the party- and indicated that colorful balloons were her vision. So, what’s a printable party girl to do but design a brand new RAINBOW Balloon Printable Birthday Kit? The party was to be held at a kid’s play gym, with a special party room set aside for birthday food and cake. The room itself was a blank slate – blank – with 3 regular 6 foot tables and plenty of chairs. My first thought was in transforming this space with some powerful impact keeping in mind a budget, and the fact that there is only a 30 minute window for set up.
Need some tips for your 30 minute set up time allotment? Set it all up at home, take a picture of it, then box it up exactly how you want it. Embellish your risers, vases, jars and cake stands at home, then wrap them in plastic grocery bags before putting them into a bin or box. Prepare all your food – wash and cut the fruit and put into tupperware containers, put the cereal bar cereal into the jars and cover with plastic wrap. When you pack, put like items into the same box/bag. Plates, napkins, cutlery, cups, table cloths, birthday candles, lighter, serving utensils, paper towels and a spare garbage bag should all go together. Party favors, popcorn boxes, cupcake toppers, pre-strung banner, wall decorations, photo booth props, framed signage and party food labels can be packed together. Don’t forget a tool kit of tape (masking, packing, blue low-tac, double sided and scotch), scissors, extra ribbon, clips/clamps/safety pins/straight pins, hole punch etc.
Okay, now I’m sure you are ready for some pictures!

And come on, how cute is our little birthday girl? She was in LOVE with the cereal bar!
.
These little party guests are ADORABLE! A friend tries to give a hug to the birthday girl, while a guest tries to squeeze by the commotion while balancing her cupcake.
.
Of course, what is a Paper & Cake party without a photo booth and some printable Birthday photo booth props? I think the grown-ups had way more fun than any kid did!

Now for the really important stuff… The gorgeous Rainbow table tutu is handmade, but I know you can find them online. Those rainbow confetti cupcakes are available from Meringue Bake Shop. They also made the breakfast pasteries, scones and mini muffins, that were eaten up like no one’s business!! The table backdrop photo of the birthday girl was taken by Missy Marie Photography, and captured a moment in time that is priceless – book your session today! The photo enlargement was printed and mounted locally at Iconography Studios.
And of course, the photography, party printables and styling are courtesy of Paper & Cake. Are you planning a balloon birthday party? I have great news for you… The Balloon Printable Birthday Kit is in the shop today! Here is what’s included for $19.95…
