Who says Easter baskets have to be all about the kids? We whipped up this grown up Easter basket for our friends over at HGTV.com and we wanted to share it with you too!

If this looks good to you, imagine the faces of those you gift it to! Aunts, Uncles, spouses, neighbors, me… Anyway, here’s what you’ll need:

Any unfinished wood crate or box (we found ours at World Market)
Spray paint in your favorite color
black paper
Chalk or white paint pen
Scissors
Bakers twine or matching ribbon

Lightly sand the crate and wipe clean before spray painting it in any color – we chose powder blue. Apply multiple coats – letting dry between coats – until completely covered. Create your mini pennant banner while the paint is drying. Cut out small triangles from black cardstock or scrapbooking paper. Using a chalkboard paint pen, write out your Easter message, one letter per triangle. Glue or tape triangles to twine or ribbon to make the mini banner. Once paint is dry on the crate, affix the banner to your liking. Fill crate with some fun adult-friendly goodies like wine & chocolate for a neighbor gift or basket for a friend!
