Planning a baby shower in the summer months can be exhausting! The hot summer sun can take the fun right out of any party. And while we can’t control the weather, we can provide you with the most delicious mocktail recipe ever! We call it, the Monkeytail.

It is sweet, crisp, and majorly refreshing – a delicious drink that can be served at any summer time party, with or without alcohol. One thing I hear the most from my pregnant friends is how they feel “left out” during parties because there isn’t a fancy drink for them. But that won’t be the case with this drink. It is THAT awesome, a total party in a glass (that will also taste great with vodka…just saying). However, in the spirit of baby shower planning, here is the virgin recipe.

Mocktail recipe:

One small seedless watermelon
One English cucumber
6 limes
¼ cup of fresh mint (keep a few sprigs for garnish)
1/3 cup of honey

  • Cut watermelon in cubes, peel and slice cucumber, and take mints leaves off of the stem.
  • In a good blender blend the watermelon until liquefied. Put through a strainer to take out the larger chunks into a pitcher. Do the same with the cucumber and mint.
  • Cut and juice the limes into the pitcher. Pour honey into pitcher. Stir well until honey dissolves.
  • Chill until ready to serve over ice.

Makes 4 generous servings

We garnished each glass with a sprig of mint tied to a skewer, and a monkey silhouette cutout from our Safari printable party set. We absolutely love this baby shower party set – it’s fun and cheeky. The Safari themed kit is the perfect selection for the mommies waiting to find out the gender of the baby, because it is gender neutral. It also could be a totally cute 1st birthday party set. Either way, make sure to serve the Monkeytail Mocktail! It is amazing!
