Happy Shark Week everyone! I know, it’s not a very widely celebrated holiday, but in our house it is HUGE! So, to get everyone in a Shark mood, how about a little tropical treat?
I’m talking about one seriously delicious piña colada milkshake! (We made our sans rum, but you could certainly make this milkshake more appealing to the over 21 crowd if need be.) While the kiddies are up to their eyeballs in sharks, give em a little pineapple and coconut goodness to transport them straight to the islands.
Piña Colada Milkshake:
(makes 2 servings)
4 cups vanilla ice cream
8 pieces of pineapple chunks
1/4 cup of the pineapple juice in the can
1/4 cup canned coconut milk
for a “Sandy” topping
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 graham crackers
whip cream
optional: Rum
In a shallow plate crumble the graham crackers with the brown sugar. Set it aside. Put the ice cream, pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and coconut milk into the blender (add the rum at this point too). Blend until you have a smooth consistency. Pour into glass, sprinkle with graham cracker crumbles, and top whip cream.
As a garnish, use these FREE straw toppers to warn everyone that there is some serious shark week watchin’ going on here!
