You know I LOVE a good party. And if there is a theme? Even better! That’s why when I made these themed rice krispie treats, I knew I had to share.
Cute and totally matchy matchy, these themed rice krispie treats will fit right in at your Family Game Night party.
Perfect, right? Okay, they are WAY easy to make… Here’s how:
Make a batch of rice krispe treats using the official recipe:
Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter
1 package (10 oz., about 40) JET-PUFFED Marshmallows OR 4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® cereal
Directions
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Best if served the same day.
Now, instead of using a standard 9×13″ pan, we used an 8×8″ pan so the layer would be much thicker and we could cut cubes out of the treats.
.
Now grab a ruler. This is one from my son’s homework area – so I scrubbed it with hot water and soap. Then, I scrubbed it with hot water and soap. You can cut any size cube you want to, but mine are about an inch square.
.
After you get all the pieces cut, you can make them more uniform and more cube-like just by manipulating them a little. Squeeze ’em a little and round off those corners.
.
For the dots, you can use either royal frosting, or use candy melts. The “Candy” part of candy melts is a little misleading because they are basically chocolate. So, melt down some chocolate, put it in a squeezey tube or pastry bag, and add dots just like they have them on dice.
.
And display them nicely on a plate, or just eat them up on the spot.
Themed food is much more fun at a party – and we have the perfect party to match these rice krispie treat dice! For a girls night in, or Family game night check out this printable kit!
