Let’s talk football. Now, I may not know much about the sport itself, but I do know you HAVE to have a Super Bowl party! I’ve been to a few in my day, and hosts pretty much go all out on food and decor. That is why, we’ve partnered up with HGTV to give you our top 10 Crafty Football Party Centerpieces!
We had a BALL (see what I did there?) coming up with these Ten Crafty Football Party Centerpieces! Now, keep in mind that the colors may not be of your favorite team, but you can absolutely change them up to reflect who is playing in the big game.
1} Kraft Hatbox
Download this printable Football Icons PDF, and print on card stock. Cut out the football “laces” and affix it to the front of a kraft paper hatbox. Cut out and hot glue the football icons to lollipop sticks or kitchen skewers. Fill the hatbox with coordinating paper shred, and insert the football icons.
2} Covered Soup Cans
Remove the labels, clean, and dry five empty soup cans. Cover them with black and white striped paper. Cut out large colorful letters to spell “SCORE”, cut out the same letters -larger- from a second color. Sandwich the letters on a lollipop stick, affixing with hot glue. Add the letters and a small bunch of flowers to each can. For an added touch, tie on a plastic football whistle to one, or all of the cans.
3} Vintage Trophy
Fill a small vintage trophy with gold paper shred, place a small football on top.
4} Bud Vases
Use any small glass containers, and purchase regular balloons in your team color. Cut the “neck” part of the balloon off, and stretch it onto the bottom of the vase. Fill your vase with water and coordinating flowers. Add a small hang tag or some matching ribbon for a finishing touch.
5} Paper Lanterns
Add tissue paper tassels to the bottom of football shaped paper lanterns. Hang them above your table center as a colorful chandelier.
6} Beer Bottles
Choose any number of empty beer (or soda) bottles, remove the labels and wrap them with jute twine, occasionally spot gluing to keep it in place. Add colorful ribbon in your team colors, and some toy footballs. Insert a bit of baby’s breath or other floral greens to a couple of the bottles.
7} Piñata
Make or buy a small football piñata. Place atop a piece of synthetic turf on a cake stand or other platter. Surround your piñata with fun candies in your team colors.
8} Favor bags
Purchase a few colorful paper favor bags at your local party supply store. Insert a small glass or mason jar into each, and tie some matching ribbon to hold it in place. Insert a wooden skewer with a football cutout or sticker on top.
9} Wooden crate
Cover a box or crate with synthetic turf. Fill ¾ with rice or dry beans, add fresh fruit – in your team colors – to top it off. Download this printable Stadium PDF kit and print on card stock. Cut out the paper football and the goal posts and hot glue to lollipop sticks or kitchen skewers, and insert into box. Cut out the field graphics and glue them to the synthetic turf on the box front.
10} Vintage Locker
Fill an old locker or wire basket with footballs. Cut small triangles out of paper in your favorite team colors. Sew the triangles together in a row and hang on the side of the locker.
