With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we were inspired to style this perfect little Sweet Heart themed brunch for you and your best friends.
part 1 ~ operation shower: sunshine safari
I am a sucker for Operation Shower. They say “jump”, I say, “how high?” If you haven’t heard me talk (gushing profusely) about them in the past, then you may be hiding under a rock. It all started with an email from Amy asking if I had anything in my shop with animals, that could potentially be turned into a design theme for their upcoming event in San Diego. Of course I didn’t, but what I said was, “of course!”
Sweet heart: valentine’s day decor
If you are looking to decorate in pink, we have a project that is easy, easy, Easy! Especially if you are reusing the spray painted bottles from another craft/decorating project. There is little to no cost to this diy decor – paper, a hole punch and tape.
yummy: cocoa gingerbread cookies
Are you madly baking holiday treats this weekend? Did you need a recipe for a cookie with all the goodness of gingerbread, with the added surprise of chocolate? Cause I just so happen to have just the thing for you… cocoa gingerbread cookies!
how to: holiday gift bottles
With Christmas now just mere days away, I have been trying to figure out my “bag of nuts” for the year. What is a “bag of nuts” you ask? Well, that’s just my way of describing the neighbor gift, teacher gift, 2nd cousin twice removed gift, you get the idea. To start this particular craft project, you will need to drink some Starbucks Mocha in a bottle drinks, and get whatever your heart desires to put into the bottle when the crafting part is done – ie. hot chocolate powder, chocolate covered espresso beans, red and green liquorice pieces, etc.
staff holiday party decor (pretty & cheap)
When the kids’ school director asked me to design a little something for their staff holiday event, I couldn’t pass it up. No really, I couldn’t pass it up. They were hoping for a “Winter Wonderland”, but this is Long Beach, California, it isn’t a “winter” kind of town. What did I come up with? Beachy Winter Wonderland.
gift card tray: DIY holiday presents
If you’re wallet looks anything like mine, it has way too many used up gift cards crammed in there for some unknown reason. Lightbulb!- we’ve come up with a fabulous and creative way to re-purpose all of those gift cards (or even hotel key cards) into a personalized serving tray. So round up all of those cards- we know you have some – and let’s get started.
post weekend update: holiday bazaar
Curse you American Girl Magazine with your crafty ideas that inspire kids to take on projects way too lofty for their tired mothers to keep up with. Why must you dedicate 5 pages, with great big colorful images and diagrams, to the “Holiday Bazaar” concept complete with compelling quotes from real kids who have supposedly held their own lucrative craft fair? Why did I say yes? But more importantly, how could I say no?
kid craft: gingerbread pillow
This isn’t an obsession, it’s more like a focused interest – on anything gingerbread! So while you’re getting into the Holiday swing with decorations, parties, and shopping- like we are– we’ve come up with this darling Gingerbread Pillow kid craft to add to the festivities! Using the same supplies as the Gingerbread Man Tote, here’s a how-to for our second way to do… Gingerbread.
Kid Craft: Gingerbread Man Tote
With the Holidays right around the corner, and the smell of Gingerbread Lattes in the air (or is that just me?), what better way to start the season than with Gingerbread, 3 ways?
